Privacy policy
In short
myRScore asks for no account and stores neither your grades nor anything that identifies you. Your record stays in your browser. This policy explains what circulates when you use the site, in accordance with Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
Your record and your grades
Your record, that is your semesters, your courses, your grades, the official R scores you enter and the R score you are aiming for, is saved in your browser's local storage, on your device. myRScore has no access to it.
To estimate your R score, the site sends the server the data needed for the calculation: your CEGEP, your program, your semesters, your course codes, your grades, the averages, the credits and the official R scores entered. The server calculates the estimate, sends it back to you, then forgets this data: it is neither saved nor written to its logs. This data is not linked to any name, permanent code or email address, which the site never asks for.
The file you export is created in your browser and saved on your device, without going through the server.
To erase your record, delete your semesters in the calculator, or clear the site's data in your browser settings.
Visit statistics
myRScore measures its traffic with Umami, an anonymous statistics tool that uses no cookies and does not keep your IP address. It collects the page visited, the site you came from, the type of browser, device and screen, the language and the country. It also counts a few anonymous actions, such as the start of an estimate or the gap between an estimate and the official R score entered afterwards, expressed as a range, along with what the estimate relied on, as categories: class average entered or not, grade below or above the average, type of course. No grade, CEGEP or R score is sent to it.
Cookies and local storage
myRScore uses a single cookie, which remembers the language you chose. Your browser's local storage keeps your record, the light or dark theme you chose, and a copy of the site's pages to speed up browsing. No advertising or tracking cookie is used.
Providers
- Cloudflare delivers the site to you and protects it against attacks. Exchanges with the site go through its network: it therefore sees your IP address and the pages requested, and your grades pass through it for the time of the calculation, without being stored. It also forwards the emails sent to myRScore.
- Umami provides the visit statistics described above.
- OVHcloud hosts, in Beauharnois, Québec, the virtual private server that runs the site and the calculation: this is where your grades are processed. Its technical logs record the time, the address requested and the response code of each request, but never the content of your calculations.
The calculation therefore takes place in Québec. Cloudflare, through which exchanges pass, and Umami may however process data outside Québec.
When you write to us
If you write to [email protected], your email address and your message are used only to answer you and follow up on your request. They are passed on to no one, and you can ask for them to be deleted at any time.
Your rights
You can ask for access to the information myRScore holds about you, for its correction or for its deletion. In practice, only the emails you sent us are concerned, since the site keeps nothing else. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
