Programs with a minimum R score

For these programs, the school publishes a minimum R score: reaching it makes you eligible, without guaranteeing admission. The average is that of the students admitted.

Good to know

  • Polytechnique Montréal is the engineering school affiliated with Université de Montréal.
  • Every program requires a minimum R score and a relevant DEC. Only a few are limited and publish the R score of their last admitted student.
  • An applicant who is not admitted to their first choice can receive an offer for their second or third choice.
  • Depending on the number of applications, a program can limit its places without notice.

How to read these figures

Unless noted otherwise, the R score in a table is that of the last person admitted: the lowest among those who received an offer. The average, when the university publishes it, shows where most admitted students stand.

These R scores change every year, depending on the number of applications and the strength of the applicants. An equal or higher R score does not guarantee admission, and a slightly lower R score does not rule it out. So apply anyway, with a second and a third choice.

When the selection also takes other criteria into account, such as an exam or an interview, the R score is mostly used to sort applications. The rest is then decided on those other criteria.
