R score by program

What R score do you need for biomedical sciences?

At the latest admissions, the lowest R score accepted in biomedical sciences ranged from 27.500 (ULaval) to 30.854 (UdeM).

R scores at the latest admissions

For each university, the lowest R score admitted at the latest published admission, the average when the university publishes it, and the previous year's R score.

Estimate my R score

Good to know

  • At Université Laval, the published R score is a minimum R score: below it, the application does not move on to the next stage. The Casper situational judgment test is also required.
  • At Université de Montréal, the average of the students admitted is well above the R score of the last admitted student, since the program is in high demand.

How to read these figures

Unless noted otherwise, the R score in a table is that of the last person admitted: the lowest among those who received an offer. The average, when the university publishes it, shows where most admitted students stand.

These R scores change every year, depending on the number of applications and the strength of the applicants. An equal or higher R score does not guarantee admission, and a slightly lower R score does not rule it out. So apply anyway, with a second and a third choice.

When the selection also takes other criteria into account, such as an exam or an interview, the R score is mostly used to sort applications. The rest is then decided on those other criteria.
