What R score do you need for medicine?
R scores at the latest admissions
For each university, the lowest R score admitted at the latest published admission, the average when the university publishes it, and the previous year's R score.

Estimate my R scoreWhat counts in addition to the R score
In medicine, the R score is first used to sort applications: only the best ones are invited to the interviews, often multiple mini-interviews (MMI). Most faculties add the Casper situational judgment test, and the prerequisite science courses, such as those of the DEC in Science, must also be completed.
An R score above the last one invited therefore does not guarantee admission, since the interviews decide between applicants.
Where to study medicine in Québec
Four universities offer the doctorate in medicine: Université de Montréal, Université Laval, Université de Sherbrooke and McGill University. Each one has its own selection rules and its own deadlines. It is therefore important to check them on its website before applying, and to apply to more than one university.
How to read these figures
Unless noted otherwise, the R score in a table is that of the last person admitted: the lowest among those who received an offer. The average, when the university publishes it, shows where most admitted students stand.
These R scores change every year, depending on the number of applications and the strength of the applicants. An equal or higher R score does not guarantee admission, and a slightly lower R score does not rule it out. So apply anyway, with a second and a third choice.
When the selection also takes other criteria into account, such as an exam or an interview, the R score is mostly used to sort applications. The rest is then decided on those other criteria.
